Anne Baxter

The birthday girl for May 7 is Anne Baxter.

I really don’t know a thing about Anne Baxter besides the fact that her role in “All About Eve” is widely considered to be one of the most-memorable performances in the history of cinema.  Personally, the film still gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

I guess I’m sort of surprised that Baxter is a Taurus.  I associate the actress with her classic role, and Eve Harrington didn’t really give me a Taurus vibe.  I don’t expect a Taurus native to be scheming and underhanded.  Perhaps if she was Scorpio this would all make much more sense . . .

Gabourey Sidibe

The birthday girl for May 6 is Gabby Sidibe.

I just wrote a post that implies that Taurus women are often better off when they simply accept their bodies rather than taking drastic measures to reduce their size.  Then I discovered that Gabby Sidibe is a Taurus.

There’s big and there’s too big.  I don’t want to see Gabby Sidibe taking the easy way out to weight loss, but I would like to see her slim down somewhat.  I’ve been a fitness trainer for even longer than I’ve been an astrologer, and I know that the actress’ weight is going to take a toll on her health as she ages.

For most self-indulgent Taurus natives, learning to incorporate more activity into their lives is the key to long-term weight loss.  It’s nearly impossible for them to completely avoid the decadent food that they enjoy, so they need to indulge in physical activities that they find similarly enjoyable.  I believe that when it comes to activity, there’s something out there for everyone.  Sometimes it just takes some time and effort to discover your exercise “niche.”  For instance, I have a Taurus friend who likes to box.  She maintains her weight by punching someone.  It sounds fun!

Anyway, I don’t want to discover a bunch of comments on my blog accusing me of inciting hatred toward fat people, so don’t even bother.  I like Gabby Sidibe, and I like Taurus natives.  I only have their best interests at heart.

Adele

The birthday girl for May 5 is Adele.

I make jokes all the time about Taurus being the “fat” sign because I know a lot of self-indulgent Taurus natives who like to eat.  I don’t really believe that Taurus individuals are fatter than anyone else in the zodiac, but I do believe that they can have poor impulse control when it comes to situations where their decadent nature is put to the test.  If one native of each zodiac sign was put at a table with a box containing a dozen dounts, I suppose the Taurus individual would be the first to dig in.

I guess it doesn’t surprise me that Adele is a Taurus.  I suppose that a big part of her appeal is that she seems like the girl next door who just happens to have a terrific set of pipes.  Often when someone like Adele breaks onto the scene with a few extra pounds on their hips, they use their newfound fame and wealth to deal with their weight.  They get trainers and personal chefs working with them in order to slim down to a more camera-friendly silhouette.  Take Adele’s fellow Taureans, Carnie Wilson and Janet Jackson, for example.  They’ve both lost a lot of weight while the spotlight was on them.

I don’t know who doesn’t look at themselves in photos without a critical eye, but I suspect that there are more Taurus natives around who simply accept their size as a part of their personality.  They don’t feel compelled to live up to an impossible standard.  For that reason, I don’t believe we’ll be looking at Adele in a couple of years on the cover of “Shape” magazine with a new face that she just bought in the plastic surgeon’s office.  For every self-indulgent Taurus women there is in the world, there’s another who expresses the easygoing nature of her sign.  I get the feeling that Adele is in the latter category.  I hope that I’m right.

Lance Bass

The birthday boy for May 4 is Lance Bass.

So I just composed a post where I questioned the seemingly disproportionate number of Taurus natives involved with “Dancing with the Stars.”  A moment later I was on Wikipedia to look up celebrity birthdays, and the first familiar name I came across was that of Lance Bass.

Not only was Bass a fan favorite on the show, he’s also a likely returnee for the “All-Stars” season that was just announced to the media yesterday.  Maybe they should just have a “Taurus-and-Capricorn-Only” season instead and save themselves some time figuring out who to cast on the show.  I know that I’d watch it!

Cheryl Burke

The birthday girl for May 3 is Cheryl Burke.

Last week on “Dancing with the Stars,” I thought it was interesting that Melissa Gilbert got the boot on her birthday because it occurred to me that Cheryl Burke and Tom Bergeron also celebrated their birthdays the previous week.  It made me wonder how many other Taurus natives were involved with the show.

Today I realized that Derek Hough is also a Taurus.  Then I remembered that Len Goodman is a Taurus, too.  While I still haven’t looked into the birthdays of the rest of the cast, it’s something I’m going to have to get around to doing.  I know that there are plenty of Capricorns involved with the show, too.  It’s weird!  It’s even weirder how much this Capricorn likes the show!  It’s my dream in life to get famous enough to be cast on DWTS.  I wish that I could see that in my stars!

Pandora Boxx

The birthday girl for May 2 is Pandora Boxx.

In my previous post, I mentioned that I seem to get along better with Taurus and Pisces natives than with any other individuals born under different signs.  Perhaps that’s why I instantly felt a rapport with Pandora Boxx aka Michael Steck when I saw him on the casting site for the second season of ”RuPaul’s Drag Race.”  I interviewed him for my other blog even before the show began to air.  Not long after, Pandora was on her way to becoming a fan favorite for the “Drag Race” viewers.

Of course, she owes her success entirely to me.  I’m kidding!  She really owes her success to her down-to-earth Taurus nature.  She’s sort of a girl-next-door type, unlike Tyra Sanchez — the winner of the second season of “Drag Race.”  Coincidentally, Tyra Sanchez shares Boxx’s zodiac sign.  Unfortunately, the cosmos didn’t bless Sanchez with any of Boxx’s endearing Taurean qualities.  Frankly, she was sort of a bitch.  In fact, she had me rooting for Raven — the show’s Aries runner-up.  You know you’re unpleasant when I would choose an Aries over you . . .

But I digress!  Boxx seems to be a Taurus through-and-through.  It’s funny how can I pick my friends without even knowing their signs.  I’m sure it happens to other people all the time, but they probably don’t notice because they’re self-absorbed Aries natives.  Whoops — there I go again!

Farah Fath

More catching up to do!  Maybe by the end of this week . . .

The birthday girl for May 1 is Farah Fath.

I don’t know much about Fath because I don’t regularly watch the soaps that she appeared in.  However, I did watch “Dirty Soap” on E!  Fath and her boyfriend, fellow soap actor John-Paul Lavoisier, were my favorites on the reality show.  Lavoisier is a Pisces.  On the other hand, Fath’s nemesis on the show was actress Kirsten Storms, who just happened to be an Aries.  I couldn’t stand her!

It’s funny that I also find myself enjoying the company of Taurus and Pisces natives in real life, while I tend to avoid most Aries natives like the plague.  It’s as if the universe has programmed my aversion to the sign of Aries into my DNA.  Sorry, Kirsten Storms!

Dianna Agron

The birthday girl for April 30 is Dianna Agron.

I had never looked up Agron’s birthday before until just a moment ago when I stumbled across it.  I guess it makes sense that she’s a Taurus because I hated this Giles Deacon dress on her despite the fact that I adored the dress on the runway.  It was simply a classic case of the right dress on the wrong girl.

Now I’ve tried to place Deacon’s designs under the microscope before.  He’s a Sagittarius, but he almost gives me an Aries vibe with his best work.  This dress certainly says “Aries” to me.  It would look better on a statuesque woman who doesn’t exude a good-girl image — I could see it looking stunning on an Aries native like Alek Wek, for example.  Then again, it was worn on the runway by Deacon’s fellow Sagittarius, model Kate King.  Hmmm . . .

Giles, Giles, Giles — what am I going to do with you?

Renee Alway

The birthday girl for April 29 is Renee Alway.

Alway was a contestant on “America’s Next Top Model.”  Just a moment ago while clicking through some of her photos it occurred to me that I associate dirty blonde hair with the sign of Taurus.  Or maybe I even associate brown hair highligted by warm blonde tones with the sign of Taurus.

Now I can think of dozens of Taurus icons who have possessed different hair colors, but that doesn’t really bother me.  There’s something about the warmth of this color that suits this sign perfectly — just like peroxide blonde hair suits the sign of Gemini and flaming red hair suits the sign of Aries.  It’s just the way it goes.

Jessica Alba

The birthday girl for April 28 is Jessica Alba.

I’ve always maintained that Michael Kors designs for the Taurus woman.  There’s a luxe-loving decadence to his designs that speaks to a down-to-earth woman who won’t put up with clothing that doesn’t make her feel comfortable.

For that reason, I wasn’t surprised to see Jessica Alba looking radiant in Michael Kors at this week’s Met Gala.  There were certainly a lot of frothier, more-sophisticated gowns on the red carpet, but very few that created a glamorous persona with such ease.

Trying too hard never suits the signature style of the Taurus woman.  Michael Kors rarely looks as if he’s trying too hard.  For a Leo designer, that’s a real accomplishment.
