The birthday boy for December 2 is Georges Seurat.
Sagittarius natives are concerned with the “big picture.” For that reason, it’s interesting to note that Seurat was a Sagittarius. His most iconic painting, “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte,” is composed of thousands of tiny “points” of paint that together form a “big picture.”
For a Sagittarius, the sum is greater than the parts. If a Virgo had painted this picture, I don’t believe that it would have turned out the same. A Virgo would have concentrated too much on the concept (such as the contrasting border of the canvas) rather than the final product itself. As it stands, the image is iconic because it is visually compelling. Only upon closer inspection does it reveal the tremendous breadth of Seurat’s accomplishment.
