Welcome to Cosmically Chic.

My name is Greg Polkosnik.  About ten years ago I wrote the first-ever trade paperback devoted to astrology and fashion.  Calling myself “the world’s foremost expert on fashion astrology,” I was not only able to get the book published in both North and South America, but I was also given the privilege to work as a columnist for some of the biggest magazines in the fashion business, including “Teen Vogue,” “Harper’s Bazaar,” and “Nylon.”

For a while, fashion astrology became a trend.  “Bazaar” changed the layout of their horoscope page to reflect the notion that certain styles suit certain signs.  “Glamour,” “Glamour UK” and “Jane” featured layouts based upon my book.  I was able to travel to prestigious events to put on charity fashion shows and deliver keynote speeches that expounded upon my theory that an individual’s sense of self-expression was directly related to their sun sign.  I also became an overnight media sensation, featured on TV programs and radio shows, as well as hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles around the world.

But like all fashion trends, fashion astrology fell to the wayside when a bunch of second-rate wannabes jumped on my bandwagon.  I guess I could be humble and pretend that there was room for all of us in the market I created, but I can’t do that.  I won’t say that my career was ruined by those imposters, but the people who stole my schtick certainly didn’t help me to get a foothold in the niche that I had carved out for myself.

I will admit that I knew that I was a victim of fashion.  I live and breathe fashion, and I knew that the fad I created wouldn’t last forever.  So I just moved on to other things.  C’est la vie.

Inspired by my friend, Auntie Fashion, I feel like I’m ready for a comeback via the blogosphere.  I don’t know where this new venture is headed, but wherever it goes it’s going to be a fun ride.  So hop on board.  The bandwagon is ready to start rolling again.
