Emma Stone

The birthday girl for November 6 is Emma Stone.

I still haven’t seen “The Amazing Spider-Man” so I really have no idea who Gwen Stacy is.  When I read about the reboot of the orignal “Spider-Man,” I figured that Stone would be playing Mary Jane, the character portrayed by Kirsten Dunst in the previous films.

Dunst is a Taurus, a sign that I often compare with the “girl-next-door” archetype.  She seemed ideally-suited to the role in which she was cast.  I’m curious to know if Stone, a Scorpio native, was also ideally-suited to her role.  I’m also curious to know if Mary Jane and Gwen are supposed to be polar opposites in the “Spider-Man” universe.

I guess I’m going to have to watch the movie to find out!

Brandon Routh

The birthday boy for October 9 is Brandon Routh.

Only a handful of actors have played the role of Superman onscreen.  The first was a Libra native named Kirk Alyn.  He was followed by George Reeves, a Capricorn.  Then came Christopher Reeve, another Libra.  Routh was the third Libra to play the role.  The other two actors to play the role on television were Dean Cain, a Leo, and Tom Welling, a Taurus.  A new Superman film will be released in 2013 with Henry Cavill, another Taurus, in the lead role.

I don’t know what any of that means, but I do find it interesting that three Libras have played the part, all with relative success.  Libra is the “justice” sign, so it makes sense that a Libra native would fit into the role.  With Cavill’s upcoming debut being the only other “repeat performance,” it will interesting to see if he brings something new to the “Man of Steel.” or if he just continues on the same path forged by Tom Welling’s “boy-next-door” portrayal of the superhero.

That reminds me that while I’ve taken a casual glance at the signs of the actors who have played James Bond, I’ve never compared the charts of the actors who have played Batman.  It’s something I should look into!

Melissa Sue Anderson

Today’s birthday girl is Melissa Sue Anderson.

I’ve never compared the signs of the cast of “Little House on the Prairie” before, but I was laughing out loud when I did.  Anderson, the pretty, passive Ingalls sister is a Libra.  Melissa Gilbert, the plucky, earthy girl is a Taurus.  And Alison Arngrim, the one who played the bad-to-the-bone Nellie Oleson is a Capricorn, just like me!

See, astrology really does work!

Brian Austin Green

The birthday boy for July 15 is Brian Austin Green.

I don’t really know much about Green.  I’m not surprised to discover that he’s a Cancer, though.  I know that he’s married to Megan Fox, and I know that she’s a Taurus.

I’m constantly writing the same disclaimer over and over again on this blog: sun sign compatibility is just a facet of overall compatibility in romantic relationships.  Still, there are a few combinations that I can get behind and this is one of them.  Cancer men and Taurus women are perfect for one another.

Now that I’ve committed that statement to the web, let’s just see how long they last.

Naeem Khan

Naeem Khan

The birthday boy for May 21 is Naeem Khan.

Khan is one of those designers who is difficult to put in an astrological box.  What’s more, I don’t have a birth time for him.  He’s got about a three-in-four chance of having a Taurus sun.  His moon, however, is probably in Gemini — again, the odds of that plantary placement is about three-in-four.  On the other hand, if he was born in the last few hours of the day, he could have a Gemini sun and a Cancer moon.

Without simply playing the odds, I do believe that he’s a Taurus.  His best work evokes comparisons to another Taurus designer: Valentino.  I believe that a decadent, luxury-loving Taurus is far more capable of producing the sort of eveningwear that Khan creates than a Gemini would be at creating similar clothing.  I expect a sporty junior line from a Gemini, or maybe trendy accessories.  I don’t anticipate a Gemini to have the focus to be responsible for the craftsmanship that I expect from Khan or Valentino.

It would be interesting to discover that Khan is a Gemini and not a Taurus.  Off the top of my head, I can’t think of a single major Gemini fashion designer.  Weird, huh?

Matt Czuchry

The birthday boy for May 20 is Matt Czuchry.

I’m a big fan of “The Good Wife” and Czuchry’s character, Cary Agos.  His performance style might be a little laid-back, but that’s what makes him so believable in the role.

What I can barely believe is that Czuchry is thirty-five-years-old.  I’ve blathered on and on and on about the boy-next-door stereotype that fits this sign since the sun entered Taurus.  If such perfect examples didn’t keep coming up when I was searching for celebrity birthdays, I’d probably shut up.  It just doesn’t look like that’s going to happen any time soon . . .

Grace Jones

The birthday girl for May 19 is Grace Jones.

I don’t get a Taurus vibe at all from Grace Jones.  If I had to guess, I would have thought that she was a Sagittarius.  Although Jupiter is in that sign, everything else in her chart is sort of scattered all around.  Without an accurate birth time, it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly what planetary positions have had the most influence in her chart.

It’s just one of those things.  I’m a big fan of both her modeling career and her music, and I’d be delighted if I could explain how the stars have shaped her career.  Unfortunately, I’m at a loss to do that.

Tina Fey

The birthday girl for May 18 is Tina Fey.

No matter what she wears and how she wears it, I never see Tina Fey looking particularly comfortable on the red carpet.  Sometimes I wish that she would just give up the act and wear what she wants to wear.  The only celebrity I’ve ever championed for ignoring the rules of award-season dressing just happens to be a Taurus: Katherine Hepburn.

I suppose that a little more Michael Kors or Ralph Lauren in her life wouldn’t hurt her, but neither would pants and a nice jacket.  To me Fey embodies the down-to-earth, comfort-loving side of her zodiac sign.  Too much fashion never does her any favors.

Tony Parker

The birthday boy for May 17 is Tony Parker.

All I know about Tony Parker is that he’s Eva Longoria’s ex-husband.  She’s a Pisces.

If I was asked about the sun-sign compatibility of Parker and Longoria before they were married, I would have said that will bring out both the best and the worst in each other.  While I know nothing of the circumstances that led to their divorce, I kind of want to look into it now.  To me this is a match made in astrological heaven, until one of them gets drunk and accidentally drives off of a cliff after a really good party . . .

Megan Fox

The birthday girl for May 16 is Megan Fox.

I suppose that Fox fits into the girl-next-door stereotype of Taurus that I keep trying to perpetuate.  Yet there’s something a little frosty about her that belies the warmth that I associate with her sun sign.  Fittingly, the only chart I was able to find online has Scorpio on her ascendant.

Because celebrity birth times are nearly impossible to confirm, I don’t often discuss ascendants, but in this case I will.  It makes so much sense!  I actually was going to write that I suspected her to have a strong Scorpio influence in her chart, but then I thought that no one would believe it if I said that I predicted her rising sign accurately.

Believe it or not, I’m really good at this stuff!
