Taylor Momsen

The birthday girl for July 26 is Taylor Momsen.

I just looked up Momsen’s chart because I was wondering if a particular planetary placement could explain her raccoon eyes.  I was expecting to find her moon in Aries, but it’s in Scorpio.

Her goth girl look could be attributed to Scorpio’s influence.  I just wish that I could place the planets in the houses, but I don’t have an accurate birthtime to do that.  With a Scorpio or an Aries ascendant, I could really understand why she looks the way she does.

I need her to call me to let me know what time she was born.  Perhaps I should have asked first and called her “raccoon eyes” later . . .

Heather Marks

The birthday girl for July 25 is Heather Marks.

Heather Marks is in the middle of a career renaissance.  After breaking into the fashion business a few years ago, her career waned and it seemed as if she wasn’t going to live up to her potential.  Recently, however, the model has seen herself snapping up high-profile campaigns that are normally reserved for modeling’s A-list.

Comebacks like that are not uncommon in modeling, but I sort of expect a Leo to never go away.  In astrology, the idea of a comeback suits the sign of Scorpio, or maybe Capricorn.  Still, you can never count a Leo out.  Now that Marks is back at the top, I don’t expect her to go away anytime soon.  In fact, with her girl-next-door-meets-high-fashion looks, she’s probably going to break into acting any day now.

Laura Leighton

The birthday girl for July 24 is Laura Leighton.

I play a little game with myself sometimes when I’m thinking of ways to describe certain signs.  I think of a phrase and then I think of the signs that best describe that phrase.  For instance, if I said “scene stealer,” I would describe the phrase with Aries and Leo.

It’s no surprise to me to learn that Laura Leighton is a Leo.  I remember two particular scenes in the original “Melrose Place” like they happened yesterday.  One was Laura Leighton’s character Sydney’s fight with her sister Jane in the swimming pool, and the other was Kimberley’s scar reveal.  Kimberly was played by Aries actress Marcia Cross.

Of course, the two most-memorable scenes from seven seasons of the hit show involve the zodiac’s “scene stealers.”  Even Amanda Woodward (Heather Locklear) couldn’t compete with that.

Stephanie Seymour

The birthday girl for July 23 is Stephanie Seymour.

Earlier this month I composed a couple of posts where I mentioned Stephanie Seymour alongside Gisele Bündchen while discussing Cancer supermodels.  I corrected the posts soon afterward, realizing that Seymour is a Leo, not a Cancer.

Just out of curiousity, I punched up her chart only to realize that she’s got a Cancer moon, Mercury and Mars.  Her sun and Venus are both in Leo.  I don’t have a birthtime for the model, so I can’t confirm her rising sign.  Nevertheless, I don’t feel so stupid for getting her sign wrong now that I know that she has such strong Cancer influences in her chart.

Somewhere on this blog is a post about Gisele where I confess that I thought that she was a Leo until I looked up her chart.  I guess women with big hair AND big boobs just give me a combined Leo/Cancer vibe.  Who can fault me for that?

Alex Trebek

Alex Trebek

Well, I’m finally ready to move onto another sign, only a week after the sun moved into Leo.  I’ll catch up soon!

The birthday boy for July 22 is Alex Trebek.

Trebek is a Cancer, although he was born on the day when the sun moved into Leo.  I can see how he suits the profile for one sign more than the other.  After all, what do we really know about Alex Trebek even though he’s been on TV every day for the past twenty-some years?

Cancer natives are typically guarded.  I suppose we’d know much more about Trebek’s personal life if he was a Leo because he would probably be inviting us into his business all the time while pretending that he really wanted his privacy — Leos can be such publicity whores!

I’ll take “Being a Celebrity is Difficult!” for $400, Alex . . .

Justin Bartha

The birthday boy for July 21 is Justin Bartha.

I never really thought about this before, but Justin Bartha has been in four very high-profile movies: both “National Treasure” films and both “Hangover” films.  In each film he plays sort of a second-banana to a character played by a Capricorn actor (Nicholas Cage and Bradley Cooper).  For that reason, I’m going to forecast that his upcoming TV series, “The New Normal,” is doomed to fail.  I think he needs to paired with an actor born under the opposing zodiac sign in order to have the right sort of chemistry.

I’m just going on history here . . .

Dean Winters

Dean Winters

The birthday boy for July 20 is Dean Winters.

Winters plays the role of “Mayhem” in ads for Allstate insurance.  Of all the zodiac signs, Cancer is the one most-closely associated with “Mother Nature.”  In many respects, the character of “Mayhem” is an anthropomorphized version of  “Mother Nature” in a man’s body, so it just figures that steely Cancer actor would be cast in the role.

Right?

Vikki Carr

The birthday girl for July 19 is Vikki Carr.

I made a joke on my other blog a couple of years ago that was perceived by the fans of Vikki Carr as an unforgivable insult.  I had to endure the wrath of several fans who were determined to lecture me in regards to the relevance of Vikki Carr to popular culture.  They were as venomous as they were humorless.  I made a joke about my own obliviousness and they reacted as if I had slapped their mother across the face.

Well, Vikki Carr is a Cancer.  Maybe she does inspire those sort of maternal feelings from her devotees.  Nevertheless, the entire episode was just weird, and I’m sure that Ms. Carr wouldn’t have given it a moment of thought.  My little joke would have bounced right off of her Cancer crab shell.

Nelson Mandela

The birthday boy for July 18 is Nelson Mandela.

While I’ve talked about a lot of Cancerian qualities on this blog, I haven’t really discussed the innate sense of self-sacrifice that defines the sign.

Imagine a sandpiper protecting her nest by pretending that her wing is broken, or Mildred Pierce confessing to a crime that she didn’t commit in order to protect her daughter.  Or imagine a man spending more than a quarter-century in prison to make a political point so that his people could be free.

The innate maternal instinct associated with the sign of Cancer is well known.  The great length a Cancer native will go to in order to protect her “children” is unparalleled.  It’s something I need to discuss in greater length.  Maybe next year . . .

David Hasslehoff

The birthday boy for July 17 is David Hasslehoff.

I looked up Jesse Metcalfe’s birthday the other day because the guy has become known for his “rack.”  He’s got bulging pectoral muscles that could be described as “manboobs” if they weren’t 100% muscle.  I was expecting him to be a Cancer.  He’s actually a Sagittarius.

David Hasslehoff, on the other hand, is a Cancer.  I guess that it makes sense that Hasslehoff and Pamela Anderson share the zodiac sign that rules over the boobs.  They both became mega-stars by showing off their racks on “Baywatch.”

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to search for some Scorpio celebrities that like to show off their crotches . . .
